Good Morning Family,
Proverbs 14:31 reminds us, “One who oppresses the poor taunts His maker, but the one who is gracious to the needy honors Him."
As many of you may know, the current government shutdown has begun to affect families who rely on food benefits (SNAP). This situation is creating real hardship for millions of people across our nation and for some within our own community.
If you are part of HCF Eastside and find yourself impacted by this, please reach out to me directly for help. We want to stand with you and ensure that your needs are met.
In an era where wolves in sheep’s clothing claim that you should be walking in prosperity materialistically speaking, Jesus on the other hand states we will have the poor with us always (Matthew 26:11). This includes Christ believing individuals.
Scripture calls us to “do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). If you are not personally in need, I encourage you to pray and ask the Lord how you might extend a helping hand or word of encouragement to a brother or sister in the faith or a neighbor who is.
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with each of you today.
With love and prayer,
Pastor Lu
